Reading Level: Ages 4-8
天讀了這本繪本給Grade 1的孩子聽. 孩子對這本繪本的反應很踴躍,猛舉手回答問題 (讓我不知該點誰回答才好
)而且對於圖畫裡的細節也看得很仔細喔!! 從孩子的專注看來可以確定這是一本好繪本喔!
我覺得念繪本給孩子聽除了可以訓練他们聽的能力,也可以訓練他们的理解能力 - 因為他們必須能夠
將聽到的和看到的連結起來才能夠了解故事的內容發展.
這故事在講述一隻愛咬東西的鱷魚-Doodle.
有天她咬了她的大象朋友 - Tumpty.
Tumpty好生氣的說: Ow! That's my bottom!
然後踩了Doodle的尾巴.
Doodle痛得大叫著: That's my tail!
(這個情節剛好可以提醒孩子不能咬人,不能打人. 也不能因為別人打你,你就可以打回去喔!)
她们的小主人Tilly這時也跑出來提醒Tumpty:
" You shouldn't stamp on your friends, even if they bite you. I'ts not nice."
這時大家都哭了(很像孩子的反應吧!)
好朋友Pru (是隻愛漂亮的小雞)趕快出來秀秀大象Tumpty並幫他貼了一個plaster; 這時,Tilly也忙著幫Doodle在尾巴包上bandage.
在Pru的溫柔攻勢下(she kissed everyone),Doodle和Tumpty最後互相道歉了,大家又是好朋友囉!
這裡孩子學到的句型為: That's my......
還有Phonics的 -i-e sound: nice ; bite
以下是我在講故事的過程中問孩子的一些問題:

Q. What did Doodle do to Tumpty?
